PILLOW COLLECTION

Assorted shapes and sizes of pillows are combined here, made of various textures, silks, upholstery weights, and trims. There are neckrolls, lined with contrast fabric, square, shirred sunbursts, and envelope shapes.

CONTEMPORARY BAY SWAG TREATMEN…

This contemporary client wanted a soft inviting bay window treatment in the dining room. We made an upholstered cushion for the window seat, and mitered a fabric covered pole at ceiling height. The pole has decorative ends of floppy 'flowers", with two sheers winding around, and in & out. Two pillows adorn the seat, for more interest.

TEXTURED SHEER ROMAN SHADE

This is a Roman shade in a powder room, of a sheer, lined with a sheer, and a soft shirred cornice at the top. It functions as a shade, with the Rollease lift system, evenly raising and lowering.

ELEGANT BATH DRAPERIES

Here we have a Hunter-Douglas Silhouette shade in the master bath. Over the shade we draped a textured sheer, pouffed on clear swag-holders, and the drape falls in 'bishop's sleeves ' at the sides. We also trimmed the swags with antique gold cord trim, and tassels ties at the poufs.

LIVING ROOM DRAPES WITH SCROLL…

Also over Silhouettes, this formal living room bay window area is draped with two sheers. The gold fabric is a crinkled sheer, contrasting with the smooth cranberry color. Hardware supporting the drape is from Amore Decorative Drapery Hardware , and consists of a center scrollwork and two side pieces. This is a beautiful alternative to a pole or rod system.

WOOD BLINDS AND CUSTOM DRAPERY

Draped at the sides of wood blinds on a wide window, we have a semi sheer swag and drapery panel, held to a 3-inch wide pole, with rings and decorative finials. The wooden hardware is faux painted to coordinate with the woodwork in the room. The luxurious fabric, supplied by Kravet Fabrics, was trimmed and hemmed by hand.

ELEGANT BISHOP'S SLEEVES

Here we have formal draped swags, mounted on an upholstered cornice board, with lined drapery panels pulled up and pouffed with chenille tassels and braided trim. The drapes puddle on the floor, behind antique chairs covered in the same fabric, a textured jacquard. A knot of the fabric separates the swags in the center.

DOOR TREATMENT

This door matches the previous picture, and , the door is still able to open, since the swags and board clear the top. The drapery panels are not installed on rods; they are upholstered into the cornices by a velcro system. Industrial strength velcro shirring tape is sewn to the flat panel and gathered. Then the panel just "taps" into the cornice, drapes perfectly, and can be easily removed when desired.

RAW SILK DRAPERIES

These are lined silk draperies, mounted on a mahogany rod with crystal finials.

CANDY COLORS

A little girl's room is the setting for this cornice, which we shaped for a fun look and projected over vertical blinds. Three colors of chintz were gathered , and the ½ inch cord trim was also used on pillows on the bed.

CONTEMPORARY CORNICES

I called these cornices "Fabric paintings", because I draped and used trim all over them, the way you might paint on a board. The client is contemporary, but wanted a somewhat elaborate design over solid verticals.Sateen fabric was used on 16" deep cornices. The front treatment is about 130" wide. There were two on the side wall, which had to look exactly alike. We also used black and gold cording and a mesh netting for interest.

GREENHOUSE WINDOW

Here we designed a country style cornice to complete a garden window in the client's kitchen. Duralee, Ltd. Supplied the fabric, and the trim gave it a nice finished edge.

PETTICOAT VALANCE

We call this treatment a "petticoat valance", since it resembles an old fashioned petticoat or 'Can-Can' costume. This valance can be made of solid fabrics, or prints, or a combination of the two. Here we used 3 colors of cotton sateen. Each layer is lined, and edged with a cord of another layer's color. The cording in the outer seams stiffens the fabric and makes it hold its shape well. We hung the valance on a pole rod, and custom painted finials to match the fabric.

CLASSIC EMPIRE TREATMENT

Bead trimmed Empire valance covers eighteen feet in bay area. The horns and returns are contrast lined. The double traverse drapes operate in three directions for the client's light control in her bedroom.

CUSTOM DRAPERY HARDWARE

This is a close up of a custom drapery hardware from Crowder Designs in North Carolina. We ordered the pole, brackets, rings and finials unfinished and painted them ourselves. The formal dining room drapery was pleated at the top, and I finished the very top seam with a cord of antique gold satin, and it all matched. The finial (pole end) is about 8" long and the ribbed pole and acanthus bracket adds a classic look to the treatment.

PAINTED & STAINED FINIALS

Here is another finial, which is part stained and part metallic gold. There are swags and panels draped on the poles, and you can see the tassel from the "fan" attached at the top.

SHEER SWAGS OVER WINDOW SEAT

Gauzy semi sheer swags drape over a black pole with antique gold finials. Window seat cushion and pillows are an assortment of Peachtree and Kravet fabrics, all trimmed to coordinate.

ORIENTAL ACCENTS

We finished these drapes and finials to have an Oriental feeling about them. The pole is antique gold, with a dark finish rubbed in. The finial has the look of a minaret, and the entire treatment was installed over a Hunter Douglas "Luminette" sheer. The client was so pleased that they gave us an antique bench to refinish to match the finial, in gold and teal and coral.

PORCELAIN PAINTED FINIAL

Another finial, this time custom painted to match the fabric, then finished with a clear sealer to have the look of porcelain. The window treatment is a valance, and to emphasize the blue color, we made the rod pocket area out of royal blue chintz. The entire bedroom and coordinating items are pictured in another photo.

TRADITIONAL CORNICE WITH SHEER…

We framed this great picture window with a shaped cornice and full sheer drapery panels at each side. The Duralee Fabric used for the cornice is a Lisere, a French tapestry. The panels also waterfall onto the floor.

BALLOON VALANCE SPECIALTY

This is one of my all time favorites, and we've used this photo in ads for years. I designed the treatment to accentuate the recessed window and cushion. The depth of the area was about 20", and I thought it would be interesting to make the balloon valance come out from the wall in a half circle effect rather than just across the window on a flat rod. So the valance is upholstered to a piece of wood shaped like half a pie, in a curve, but the flat wood covers the ceiling like a canopy. In other words, if you sit on the cushion and look up, you'll see the fabric covered wood on the ceiling. The valance is about 13" deep, and the side panel pouf as shown. There are bows of coordinating fabric adorning the panels, and also as cording on the top of the treatment where it touches the ceiling.

WASHABLE CUSTOM BEDDING

We made all these products in a little girl's bedroom washable, because the fabric is half poly/half cotton. The client had her choice of quilting designs on thecomforter, and we made all the shams and pillows to cuddle up with on the bed!! There are four king shams, and several toss pillows, all with custom designs. There is also a window treatment of all the four colors, too.

OLD FASHIONED CANOPY BED

Here's a bed done with a canopy, comforter, ruffled shams, and dustruffle, from five different fabrics.

ELEGANT ARCHITECTURAL CORNICE

This gold leaf /crackle finish cornice can be created to your window dimensions. The face width stays the same. We recently installed one ten feet wide, that we custom finished to the fabrics and furniture tones in the room.

COUNTRY FRENCH STYLE

The country French look is evident in this bedroom with the brass bed, and antique dressing table. We made the reversible duvet (blanket cover), dustruffle, shams, toss pillows, the skirt on the dressing table, and even upholstered the bench, not visible. The window treatment portion with a painted finial coordinates with this room.

POLE SWAG DISPLAY

These swags are trimmed with tiny tassel fringe and draped over a gold twist pole.
